Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Mark Strong, Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicolas Cage
Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy, decides to take his obsession to the next level and becomes a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name “Kick-Assâ€, assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. One night while out on the job Kick-Ass is captured on video and instantly becomes a huge public phenomenon. His life will never be the same and he’s unknowingly inspired a subculture of copycats, hunted by real life villains, and attracked a back stabbing wanna-be hero called Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). Kick-Ass’ new found fame has also placed him on the radar of Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and his daughter Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) who want him to know that he’s not alone in the good fight. REVIEW “Kick-Ass†is a superhero story the unsung Average Joe who dreams of superheroes life. The only problem is that Kick-Ass has no superpowers, no money, no unique gadgets, and absolutely no fighting skills whatsoever! However, Kick-Ass has heart and all he wants is to help people in need. Red Mist was totally worthless, Big Daddy was cool in his own freaky narcissistic way, and Hit Girl was the bomb! I don’t know what it is about an 11-year-old girl that can totally kick-ass (for the lack of a better word) but she totally ROCKED!! The movie wasn’t that funny, the plot was mediocre, and the costumes were pretty simple. BUT the fighting scenes were pretty damn good… actually better than I expected. “Kick-Ass†is a mindless film that will hold your attention but it’s not enough to brag about other than Hit Girl. I saw it in the theater; you should probably wait to watch it at home. ~Dana Da Designated Hata® aka Nobody’s Fan®
