Miley Cyrus, Liam Hemsworth, Greg Kinnear, Kelly Preston, Bobby Coleman, Carly Chaikin, Hallock Beals, Nick Lashaway, Nick Searcy
Seventeen-year-old Veronica 'Ronnie' Miller's (Miley Cyrus) life gets turned upside-down when her parents get divorced, and her father moves from New York City to Tybee Island, Georgia. Three years later, she still angry with her parents and have completely alienated them from her life, especially her father. Ronnie's mother (Kelly Preston) decides that it would be in everyone's best interest if both of her children spent the summer on Tybee Island with their father (Greg Kinnear). Ronnie's father is a former concert pianist and teacher, who gave up the city slicker life for peace and quiet in this tiny little beach town. He's trying his best to reconnect with his daughter but she doesn’t forgive too easily. "The Last Song" is an unforgettable story about a teenager's first love, and the love shared between parents and children. REVIEW First and foremost, let me just state for the record that I am not a fan of Miley Cyrus at all!! The only reason why I even went to see this movie was because of the author Nicholas Sparks, who’s other books such as “A Walk to Remember†and “The Notebook†have also be adapted into films. I’m a sucker when it comes to a good love story and Sparks continues to prove that his material is Hollywood ready. “The Last Song†is story about relationships and how they can break our hearts and heal them. Looking past Miley Cyrus and focusing more on Greg Kinnear… this film makes it worth watching. Just be forewarned that “The Last Song†will make you cry. So be prepared to wipe those tears and come armed with some tissues. If you like chick flicks then you’ll like this one. Just note that “A Walk to Remember†and “The Notebook†are nothing like “The Last Songâ€; which eventually becomes less of a coming-of-age film and more of a love story about family. I wouldn’t run out to the theaters to watch it, but I do suggest that you should wait to watch it as a rental or on Pay-Per-View. ~Dana Da Designated Hata® aka Nobody’s Fan®
