We’ve heard it time and time again that the system doesn’t work. Well Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is an upstanding family man whose wife and daughter are brutally murdered during a home invasion. When the killers are caught, Nick Rice (Jamie Foxx), a hotshot young Philadelphia prosecutor, is assigned to the case. Over Clyde’s objections, Nick is forced by his boss to offer one of the suspects a light sentence in exchange for testifying against his accomplice. Needless to say Clyde is disgusted by this news and he waits ten years to seek his revenge. When the man who got away with his families murder turns up dead, Clyde Shelton easily admits his guilt. However this brainiac’s goal is to torment, threaten, and kill the key players in the trial until the City of Philadelphia either fixes the flawed justice system that failed his family. Nick finds himself in a desperate race against time facing a deadly adversary who seems always to be one step ahead.

 

“Law Abiding Citizen” was cool but it would have been a better pick for a rental or even cable. Just because you’ve got headliners like Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx going at it on the big screen doesn’t mean that it should've went to the theater.
