Gerard Butler, Amber Valletta, Michael C. Hall, Chris “Ludacris†Bridges, Kyra Sedgwick
Everyone that saw this preview was like, “Oh I saw this already it was Running Man, or was it Death Race?â€. It was nothing like that at all, but more like a close cousin…like this is what a cousin would look like if these two movies were remotely blood related. The premise for this movie film basically exploits social networking to the next level. What if real people actually did play an actual homosapien for the sake of recreation purposes as if they were a digital person in the video game like the SIMS? Now think about humans finding employment as a character in this Internet reality based virtual game. I saw all types of weird shit that I think people would do…sort of sick. Anywayz, Ken Castle (Michael C. Hall), developer of this mind-controlling technology is making billions on this invention, and when he introduces “Slayers†a killing video game into the system he really takes it up a notch. By using convicted criminals as its sacrificial players, each week inmates compete in an arsenal gladiator environment to kill or be killed in a fight to regain their freedom. If a player can go 30 rounds then the players wins back their freedom. Kable (Gerard Butler) is controlled by Simon (Logan Lerman), a young gamer with celebrity status that continues to defy all the odds by guiding Kable to victory every week. However, nothing is ever that simple and when Kable beats the system and lives all hell breaks loose.   I thought this movie was cool. For all you action junkies that need to see bullets, blood, or body parts all over this place, then this is the one for you. I didn’t think it was all that bad and I can see this quickly becoming a new TBS classic. So if you need some bang-bang shoot up in your life right now cause you crave an action fix, then this will do the trick for now. It’s certainly worth of the cost of a good matinee, decent date, or a justified rental when it’s released to the public. ~Dana Da Designated Hata®, Nobody’s Fanâ„¢Â
