Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Carla Gugino, Oscar Isaac, Scott Glenn, Jena Malone, Jamie Chung
A young girl is institutionalized by her abusive stepfather and will undergo a lobotomy in five days’ time. She retreats into fantastical world in her imagination as a coping strategy. She envisions an elaborate plan to help her escape from the mental facility and recruits a few of her fellow inmates to do the same. REVIEW Imagination is everything and for some people this is the only way for them to deal with everyday life. In “Sucker Punch”, Baby Doll (Emily Browning) uses her imagination to devise a plan to escape, conquer her fears, hypnotize people, and fight alongside a team of vintage vixens that kick major ass. “Sucker Punch” lives up to its name with lots of action packed scenes and some of the hottest special effects and 3D battles scenes that I’ve seen outside of a video game. The soundtrack for “Sucker Punch” is really HOT and adds the right amount of intensity to the storyline and cinematography. And even though “Sucker Punch” offers you all of that, I still don’t believe that it’s the type of film that’s going to be of interest to everyone. Most people will be confused because the lines between reality and fantasy blur throughout the entire film. But for those of you who are smart enough to make the distinction then I think you’ll enjoy it and the bigger the screen and sound system the better. “Sucker Punch” is a good movie, but you’ll get a bigger bang for your buck if you just wait to rent it on Blu-ray or DVD. ~Dana Da Designated Hata® aka Nobody' Fan®
