The Muppets are back for the first time in over 10 years and I am super excited to see their return to the big screen. These furry characters have been missing in action for way too long. It’s time for the younger generations to be introduced, and for all you old folks to reconnect with your childhood memories.

The initial teaser trailer is very misleading because at first glance “Green with Envy” looks like a romantic comedy starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams. BUT if you really pay close attention to the scenes you’ll notice subtle hints of The Muppets all over the place. From the car in the classroom to the posters on the walls. By the time the trailer is over you get an idea of what’s to come, and a reminder of why the world enjoyed these characters in the first place. “Green with Envy” is about reuniting The Muppets so that they can save their old studio from a greedy oil tycoon played by Chris Cooper.

This will be the first time that we really get to see our Muppet friends actually walking thanks to technology. Jason Segel who stars and also co-wrote the screenplay wanted to stay true to Henson’s brand/franchise while giving the audience the same level of jokes that their used to.

Now it wouldn’t be The Muppets if there weren’t a couple of musicals and plenty of celebrity. Be on the lookout for guest appearances from Katy Perry, Whoopi Goldberg, Jack Black, Emily Blunt, Neil Patrick Harris, Selena Gomez, Billy Crystal and more.

The Muppets “Green with Envy” hits theaters on November 23, 2011. Just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday!!
